August 10 Made it to Cincinnati OhioI managed to pull off my goals again today. I went 5.25 miles in under 1 hr 15 min (took me 1 hr 8 min). Ran the first 1.5 miles of it. Drank 10 + glasses of water and had brocolli with cheese for an evening snack.
This means I have now walked the distance from my home to Cincinnati, Ohio (376 miles via mapquest). I've gone 379.25 miles on the elliptical :) So I made it to watch a Star Wars Marathon with Muethings just in time for the new movie to come out later this week. 30.5 miles this weekI am so excited! I did 9 miles today! I ran/jogged the first 5.25 miles in 49 minutes. Then continued with a cool down of .5 miles. After that I called my folks to tell them my miles. Back in my hometown they were doing Relay for Life (something I do every year I'm there) so they wanted to know my miles by proxy. Between last night and today I had done 11 miles. Mom then told me that I had beat her in miles but that Joey and Linda still held the record with 13 miles. I said, "Well, you know what that means? I'm gonna go run three miles." My brother and I are highly competitive people so the thought of being only 3 miles away from outdoing him was motivation enough in itself - even though I was already tired. So I hoped back on the elliptical and pushed myself - mile 1 of 3 in 8 min, mile 2 of 3 in 8 min, and to my surprise - mile 3 of 3 in 7 min 15 sec. I felt pretty proud of myself and cooled off with a half mile jog/walk.
So I exceeded my goals for today.
Run first 1.25 miles of 5.25 mile - check Finish 5.25 miles in under 1 hr 20 min - check - finished in 49 min then exceeded miles. Drink 10 glasses of water - check (I stopped counting after 10) Eat at least one fruit of veggie - check I had probably a cup and a half of brocolli with lunch So I feel pretty excited that I did so many miles this week and met the goals I had set for myself. I also thouroughly enjoyed rewarding myself for all the hard work with a massage - got rid of a lot of knots in my shoulders and surprisingly - in my feet.
I am looking forward to a lot of things in this coming week. New Star Wars movie (I'm going opening night to the midnight show in costume), my family comes to visit this next weekend, and oddly enough, I am looking forward to working out more.

Kickin' some Hutt butt! August 08 Accomplishments! So I set goals for yesterday while I was at work and wrote out my goals for the day on an index card. They read as follows: Today (8/7) my goal is to solidly run the first mile of my 5.25 miles and get all my miles in - in under less than 1 hr 30 min. Drink at least 10 glasses of water. Eat at least one fruit or veggie at lunch And I am proud to say that each of these goals now bears a green check mark of completion. My first mile I ran at a steady pace in 6 min 50 sec. I finished my first 5 miles in 50 minutes and then had a 5 minute cool down with the remaining quarter mile. This means I exceeded my goal of finishing the 5.25 miles in less that 1 hr 30 min. I drank 16 glasses of water throughout the day (9 through the work day and 7 during my workout). I had a cup and a half of assorted fruit with lunch and happily skipped the deserts in the cafe. So I feel incredibly accomplished. And to think I almost skipped the workout. I didn't get home until 10:50 from a gathering of the theatre club I am a part of. I was feeling very tired and just wanted to crawl into bed, but I walked past my husbands computer chair still debating whether to put on my workout clothes or hop into bed. I told him I need to workout. He said something along the lines of okay or have fun and that sealed the deal for me. It was the little push I needed to put on my workout clothes and hop on the elliptical. If he had commented about the time or that he was tired I know I would have used it as an excuse to write off my workout and hop into bed. So I'm really glad he didn't. I hope you all have a great day! TOTAL MILES = 359.75 (I really need to update my Bantha picture :p) July 21 Update of sorts...So it's been ages since I've updated this page.
