"Stay on Target" - Rebel Nat's Goals

So far I am on track for my overall goal and my weekly goal. My goal is to lose 2 pounds a week to get myself down to 160 [I'll see about setting a goal to go beyond that once I get to it].

So We'll Sing You A Song, Bob & Jillian...

Rebellion Against the Hutt Empire

For too long have we been slaves to the Hutt Empire. For too long we have been forced to carry around more weight then we should. We have agonized over the comments from others, the cruel stares, and even the jeers. Held captive by the fear of making a change! We have been frozen into submission by the fear of defeat that leaves us too afraid to rebel.

NO LONGER!!! NO LONGER WILL WE TOIL UNDER THE EMPIRES THUMB! LITTLE BY LITTLE WE WILL THROW OFF THE POUNDS THAT HAVE ENCHAINED US! STEP BY STEP WE WILL THROW OFF THE CONTROL OF THE EMPIRE! UNTIL THE DAY THAT WE WILL MAKE OUR FINAL STAND! THE DAY WE WILL SHOW THE EMPIRE WHAT WE HAVE DONE AND DECLARE OURSELVES NO LONGER SLAVES BUT AMONG THE FREE AND FIT. THAT IS THE DAY THE HUTT EMPIRE SHALL TASTE DEFEAT!

That day is coming! I hope that you enjoy following us on our story of rebellion and victory. May you also see victory against the Empire.

Now to introduce ourselves…

My name is Natalie and I have pledged myself to this rebellion. I am now a part of the rebellion against the Hutt Empire. I shall be working towards a victory of weighing 160 lbs. In my chains of pounds I joined the rebellion at 274 pounds on Jan. 1st. I hope that you will follow along in the battle with me and my rebel friend who is fighting too.

My name is Angel and I too have pledged myself to this rebellion. I plan on kicking Hutt butt and getting down to the same victory weight as well. In my hour of need, Rebel Nat asked me to join her in rebeling against the Hutt Empire and I joined at 294 pounds on Jan. 11th.

Together we plan on releasing ourselves from the 249 pounds that have kept us in the service of the Hutt Empire.

Made it to Cincinnati Ohio

I managed to pull off my goals again today.  I went 5.25 miles in under 1 hr 15 min (took me 1 hr 8 min).  Ran the first 1.5 miles of it.  Drank 10 + glasses of water and had brocolli with cheese for an evening snack.

This means I have now walked the distance from my home to Cincinnati, Ohio (376 miles via mapquest).  I've gone 379.25 miles on the elliptical :)  So I made it to watch a Star Wars Marathon with Muethings just in time for the new movie to come out later this week.

30.5 miles this week

I am so excited!  I did 9 miles today!  I ran/jogged the first 5.25 miles in 49 minutes.  Then continued with a cool down of .5 miles.  After that I called my folks to tell them my miles.  Back in my hometown they were doing Relay for Life (something I do every year I'm there) so they wanted to know my miles by proxy.  Between last night and today I had done 11 miles.  Mom then told me that I had beat her in miles but that Joey and Linda still held the record with 13 miles.  I said, "Well, you know what that means?  I'm gonna go run three miles."  My brother and I are highly competitive people so the thought of being only 3 miles away from outdoing him was motivation enough in itself - even though I was already tired.  So I hoped back on the elliptical and pushed myself - mile 1 of 3 in 8 min, mile 2 of 3 in 8 min, and to my surprise - mile 3 of 3 in 7 min 15 sec.  I felt pretty proud of myself and cooled off with a half mile jog/walk.

So I exceeded my goals for today.
Run first 1.25 miles of 5.25 mile - check
Finish 5.25 miles in under 1 hr 20 min - check - finished in 49 min then exceeded miles.
Drink 10 glasses of water - check (I stopped counting after 10)
Eat at least one fruit of veggie - check I had probably a cup and a half of brocolli with lunch

So I feel pretty excited that I did so many miles this week and met the goals I had set for myself.    I also thouroughly enjoyed rewarding myself for all the hard work with a massage - got rid of a lot of knots in my shoulders and surprisingly - in my feet.
I am looking forward to a lot of things in this coming week.  New Star Wars movie (I'm going opening night to the midnight show in costume), my family comes to visit this next weekend, and oddly enough, I am looking forward to working out more.

*dances happily*

Kickin' some Hutt butt!

Accomplishments!

So I set goals for yesterday while I was at work and wrote out my goals for the day on an index card. They read as follows:

Today (8/7) my goal is to solidly run the first mile of my 5.25 miles and get all my miles in - in under less than 1 hr 30 min.
Drink at least 10 glasses of water.
Eat at least one fruit or veggie at lunch

And I am proud to say that each of these goals now bears a green check mark of completion.

My first mile I ran at a steady pace in 6 min 50 sec. I finished my first 5 miles in 50 minutes and then had a 5 minute cool down with the remaining quarter mile. This means I exceeded my goal of finishing the 5.25 miles in less that 1 hr 30 min.
I drank 16 glasses of water throughout the day (9 through the work day and 7 during my workout).
I had a cup and a half of assorted fruit with lunch and happily skipped the deserts in the cafe.

So I feel incredibly accomplished. And to think I almost skipped the workout. I didn't get home until 10:50 from a gathering of the theatre club I am a part of. I was feeling very tired and just wanted to crawl into bed, but I walked past my husbands computer chair still debating whether to put on my workout clothes or hop into bed. I told him I need to workout. He said something along the lines of okay or have fun and that sealed the deal for me. It was the little push I needed to put on my workout clothes and hop on the elliptical. If he had commented about the time or that he was tired I know I would have used it as an excuse to write off my workout and hop into bed. So I'm really glad he didn't.

I hope you all have a great day!

TOTAL MILES = 359.75 (I really need to update my Bantha picture :p)

Update of sorts...

So it's been ages since I've updated this page.  I've gone 229.5 miles so far this year and hope to triple that number before the year is out  I'm back to making the choice to workout daily.  So that is a good thing.  I will kick this Hutt's butt.  I am determined and I can do it.

Rebel Victories - Combined Weight Loss

Rebel Contestant Info

Team: Part of the Rebellion

Relationship: Friends and fellow Mad Ison Cantina Fan Force patrons (aka Star Wars fans)

Goals:

Natalie – to lose 114 pounds

Angel – to lose 135 pounds

Between the two of us – to lose 249 pounds

Our Location: Madison, WI

Reason for entering the contest:
We have a long list of reasons (that can be seen in our motivation banner), but the big reasons are that we want to be happy with ourselves again and be healthy. We both have big futures planned that will involve kids and lots of activity which we want to be there for. The plan is to lose weight in a safe manner, make the time to do so, and just to have fun while doing it. Daily plan: 30+ minutes of exercise, 8+ glasses of water a day, healthy eating, live space update, and a daily call to update each other on our progress against the Empire. Saturday: Rebel workout day (joint workout), weigh-in review, and photo motivation in the form of depicting the Empire’s destruction. Workouts will vary from dancing it up Twi’lek style to the rigorous training of a Stormtrooper. We plan to challenge and push each other in order to stay motivated. We’re talking Vader-like motivation here – did you ever see anyone step out of line when he was around? Combined with Yoda-like encouragement and knowledge (i.e. tips from the MSN Heath and Fitness, the Biggest Loser Fitness Program book, and other sources). We are winning because we think we are worth it and we are claiming victory over the Hutt (fat) Empire. Even if we don’t win the official contest we will have won because we are supporting each other in kicking Hutt butt. And just incase you aren’t certain – yes, we are Star Wars geeks.

WHAT AN AWESOME SONG!!!!
I've loved your site theme from the beginning - but I'm not sure we've connected - I want to look like Leia in the metal bikini when I'm done!  Not the cinnamon bun hair from the other movie!
You are doing great - keep up the fight!
